With over 35 years in practice, Dr. Moeiz Koshki is the steady foundation of SMDA’s legacy of excellence. A Georgetown-trained dentist and lifelong learner, Dr. Koshki has pursued advanced training through the Pankey Institute and Spear Education, refining his clinical skills while mentoring the next generation of dental leaders, including his two sons.
Dr. Koshki’s approach to dentistry is rooted in listening. He believes every treatment plan should be as unique as the patient behind it — personalized, respectful, and conservative. His calm, experienced presence and dedication to high standards have earned him the trust of families throughout Santa Monica for decades.

Dr. Gail Sakamoto
Dr. Gail Sakamoto brings decades of experience, compassion, and clinical excellence to Santa Monica Dental Arts. Raised on a farm outside Fresno, California, she developed a strong work ethic and a thoughtful, patient-first approach that continues to define her care today. She earned her dental degree from UCLA School of Dentistry and completed a General Practice Residency at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital before opening her Santa Monica practice in 1983. After more than three decades serving the community, she joined Santa Monica Dental Arts in 2019, continuing her legacy of personalized, relationship-driven dentistry.
Dr. Sakamoto is known for her gentle touch and dedication to restorative and cosmetic dentistry, helping patients restore both function and confidence in their smiles. Her patients often describe her as compassionate and detail-oriented — someone who truly listens and treats every patient like family. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, wine collecting, and traveling.
Dr. Joshua Koshki
Dr. Joshua Koshki brings creativity, curiosity, and a modern perspective to Santa Monica Dental Arts. Originally from Potomac, Maryland, he later moved to California, where his passion for thoughtful, patient-centered care began to take shape. After studying Business Psychology in Southern California, he earned his dental degree from New York University and gained experience practicing across New York, Miami, and California — experiences that shaped his dynamic and contemporary approach to dentistry.
Dr. Koshki is especially passionate about cosmetic dentistry and smile transformations, blending aesthetics, empathy, and technical precision to create natural, personalized results. He believes dentistry should feel thoughtful and comfortable from start to finish. Outside the office, he enjoys ceramics, photography, fashion, cooking, and staying active with paddle boarding, beach volleyball, and tennis.
Dr. David Koshki
Dr. David Koshki combines artistry, precision, and a hands-on approach to dentistry. Originally from Potomac, Maryland, he later moved to California and discovered his passion for creating beautiful, functional smiles. He began his dental career as a hygienist before earning his dental degree from the USC School of Dentistry, developing a strong foundation in patient care and a detail-oriented approach to cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Koshki focuses on smile makeovers and aesthetic dentistry, crafting natural-looking results tailored to each patient. Known for his collaborative style and artistic eye, he enjoys helping patients feel confident and proud of their smiles. Outside the office, he enjoys staying active, spending time at the beach, hiking, and watching basketball.
